June 2022 Newsletter

Dear family and friends,                                                                        June 2022

June is Inclusion Month
At Azalea Blossom, we truly believe in diversity and inclusion. We foster a nurturing environment which allows our unique selves to blossom. We know that compassion is the basis of all healthy relationships and we strive to empower individuals of all backgrounds and identities. We are beaming with Pride, knowing that the world is coming together to celebrate equality, diversity, and inclusivity of all the beautiful people on our planet. Juneteenth is a time to celebrate our African American community. At Azalea Blossom we teach about diversity and inclusion through our puppet characters including Tamika and Bobby Bunny (shown below).

SAFE through the arts Update
The final version of the trailer for our SAFE through the arts television series is in the works. Our Art Director, Amy Jade Gong and Director, Margaret Jean Bernstein have been meeting to make final edits.
We cannot wait to show you how our SAFE puppets, songs, and arts activities come together to bring compassionate communication, positivity and empowerment education to young children.

Bricks in the Wall Program Update
Different offerings will soon be available for booking the Bricks in the Wall program. These sessions and workshops will include a variety of events and activities. Offerings will include Margaret sharing her story and songs, empowerment exercises from the SAFE through the arts program, beginner Hatha and Vinyasa yoga classes with a trauma-informed social-emotional learning (SEL) focus, and art therapy activities.

Bill Glover – Donor of the Month
In honor of Father’s Day this month, we would like to feature Bill Glover. Bill has been a generous donor for Azalea Blossom since its inception, helping us to continue our important work. Previously, Bill was the Arizona logistics coordinator for Hands Across America and business and facilities manager at the Awakening Seeds where he is still the facilities manager.

Quotation of the Month
“Diversity is having a seat at the table, inclusion is having a voice, and belonging is having that voice be heard.” (Liz Fosslien)

With love, best wishes and gratitude, xo
